Touching Sonic Memories is a temporal site installation that explores the internal wonders of the human body. This light and sound installation consists of three hanging light sculptures, each designed to provoke an interactive experience that transcends the visual. While infrared light is invisible to the eye, I create a sensory journey that invites the viewer to engage beyond what can be seen.

The tassels of the sculptures are made from sheep wool and silk, materials that reflect both my genetic lineage and contemporary understanding of the body. The industrially manufactured silk represents the present—our bodies' sinews, tissues, and the medical knowledge that shapes how we understand ourselves. In contrast, the wool connects to my ancestral past, as my family comes from a lineage of sheep herders from Norway and the UK. Wool represents the textural bonds of my heritage, a tactile link to my family's history.

Through the fusion of sound, touch, and heat, I share my body’s experience, inviting the viewer to connect with their own body and, by extension, their own past. Touching Sonic Memories is a site-specific installation that exists within the viewer's lived body. It provides an opportunity to feel what lies within, to explore the internal self through a sensory experience, and to contemplate the complex relationship between body, memory, and identity.
